The DesiQuest Winter Special is a three-part actual-play Dungeons & Dragons mini-arc that premiered on February 19, 2025, on the EffinFunny YouTube channel. Set in the rich, South Asian-inspired fantasy world of Vehaar, this special continues the adventures of the beloved Season 1 cast, offering a cozy yet mysterious narrative perfect for the winter season.
Returning to the world of Vehaar was a blast! Just like in Season 1, I illustrated the characters and designed the show graphics. This time, however, the art direction took on a whole new vibe.
For the Character illustrations, I took inspiration from lino prints and wooden carved stamps:
When it came time for graphics, the ask was for a National Park theme and I went absolutely crazy! Researching stationary, giftshop mementos, vintage postcards, and having just taken a trip to Yosemite National Park, ideas started to fly. In the end, I honestly couldn't decide which part of the project I enjoyed working on more.
