Voodoo Val

This is a collection of the Lucasfilm work I've done, as an illustration vendor with Penguin Random House. As a massive Star Wars fan, it was a absolute dream working on these!

I had the honor of illustrating exclusive posters for the Barnes & Noble Exclusive editions of two Star Wars novels:

Star Wars: Shadow of the Sith by Adam Christopher, published on June 28, 2022, and
Star Wars: Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade by Delilah S. Dawson, published on July 18, 2023.

I also illustrated the official cover for the re-release of Star Wars: Dark Lord – The Rise of Darth Vader by James Luceno, published on February 4, 2025, as part of the Star Wars Essential Legends Collection.

I consider it a high honor to have been asked to illustrate the "Bad Guys" of Star Wars and hope to get the opportunity to do more in the future! I think the project I most enjoyed was the Inquisitor project. In my heart of hearts I long for a chance to illustrate Thrawn, my favorite Space Baddie. For now, I'm content with fan art, which is actually how I got the job in the first place!

After the first gig, which was the Shadow of the Sith illustration, I did ask how Penguin Random House discovered me and why they chose to refer me for Lucasfilm publications. I was told that the fan art series of Mandalorian Helmets I did some years ago had been noticed!

So, if you love something and you feel compelled to create fan art, DO IT! You never know what might come of it!
